Create your investor profile on OpenVC

Your investor profile is your identity on OpenVC.

Every investor profile is seen by 3000 founders on average every month, so it's worth keeping it updated!

Log in to your investor account, go to Settings by clicking on your profile picture (bottom left corner), and let's review each field available.

"Overview" section

This section contains the basic information every founders needs to know about your firm.

We also use this data to filter deals sent to you, so make sure it's accurate!

  • Investor type: Selected at account creation and cannot be edited.

  • First check: Enter a min and max amount in USD.

  • Lead: Do you lead rounds always, sometimes, or never.

  • Themes: Automatically determined based on the field "Funding requirements". They cannot be directly edited.

  • Funding stage: Select the stages at which you actively invest: Idea stage, ā‰ƒSeries B-D), Pre-IPO (ā‰ƒSeries E+).

  • Countries of investment: Select the countries in which you invest i.e. where the startup must be incorporated.

  • Who we are: A short description of your firm (or yourself for a solo angel)

  • Funding requirements: Describe your investment thesis in details. Be as specific as possible, so you receive the most relevant deal flow.

  • Value add: Describe briefly how you support your portfolio companies. Be specific and give examples, this is an opportunity to differentiate yourself.

  • FAQ: Answer these eight standard questions to give founders more insights about your investment approach.

  • Location: Enter the address of your Global HQ and branch offices so founders can locate you. Use a full postal address and your Global HQ will appear on the OpenVC Map. (NB: If you're an angel, don't enter your home address! A random address downtown will be enough ^^)

  • Video: You can embed a Youtube video directly inside your OpenVC profile. This allows founders to get a better picture of who you are and what you stand for, directly from you.

Accelerators and incubators also get these extra fields:

  • Program fee: How much do you charge founders to join your program? Answer in USD, reply $0 if joining is free.

  • Deal terms: How much equity do you take from founders joining your program ? Is it a standard deal for all companies or is it a custom deal on a case-by-case basis?

  • Application period: Are there rolling applications throughout the year or are applications organized in batches?

"Team" section

This section shows your team i.e. the people working at your firm. It is automatically generated based on their account information when they join OpenVC.

Invite your colleagues to join OpenVC from the Invite menu!

"Portfolio" section

Use this section to showcase your past investments. This gives founders a sense of your taste and established your credibility as an active investor.

"Reviews" section

Founders can leave a review about your firm. You can approve the review and display it on your profile or reject it and keep it hidden, so you're always in control.

No reviews? Ask your portfolio founders to leave a review on your profile!

"Settings" section

Scroll to the bottom of your profile to fund the Settings section.

  • Social links: Share your Linkedin, X, website and other links

  • How do you want to receive deal flow: Chose between via email, via an online form, or only via intros

  • CRM: Let us know what CRM you use to manage your deal flow (for statistical purposes only)
