Outreach screening
Learn how and why OpenVC reviews investor outreach
Outreach screening is one of the key features of OpenVC.
What is outreach screening?
When you use the "Submit deck" action, your submission will be reviewed by our team before being sent to the investors.
We look at your email subject, email body, and pitch deck. As long as your outreach broadly follows the guidelines, it should be accepted.
Please note that only outreach done via the “Submit deck” action are screened. Outreach done via the “Send email’ and “Fill form” actions are not screened.
Why do you screen my outreach?
Because investors ask us to.
Screening is a requirement from investors who signed up to our platform and don't want to receive spam or low-quality deals.
Investors trust OpenVC because we screen deal flow. Otherwise, we would be a spam machine and your outreach would have zero weight. So this screening also benefits you: it creates trust from every deal coming from OpenVC.
How long does the screening take?
Screening usually takes 24 hours (excl. weekends) and rarely up to 48 hours.
If you believe your submission is stuck in review, email us at steph@openvc.app.
Please note that the screening doesn't restrict your amount of daily submission.
How do I know when my outreach is approved?
If your submission is rejected, no worries. You will be notified by email quickly with a short feedback. Fix your email and deck, and resubmit. Take this as an opportunity to maximize your chances.
If your submission is approved, you will see it in your OpenVC CRM. The investor will receive your email. If interested, he/she will reply to you directly by email. OpenVC doesn't act as a middleman.
